Rest day 1 at Dave (Scruff) and Jan in Harare
Distance 8431
Total from Amsterdam 13831
Gremlins cropping up again. Peter pointed out that I’ve called the floating jelly fish an octopus and yesterday I had the date and Day number wrong ?
We were warm enough last night under a duvet and two thick blankets and this morning had tea and our breakfast oats in bed with a magic view of the valley. Peter’s gone up to the main house to watch Waikato Chiefs get beaten 32-31 by the Hurricanes in the first quarter final of the Super rugby … I’m still in bed. We were able to shed a layer of clothing at noon and on checking the weather app for Harare for the next few days, it will continue to warm up daily.
We’re sitting on our balcony facing the valley and the pictures we took don’t do justice to its beauty. Houses are dotted in the distance with two humongous monstrosities that look totally out of place. Scruff returns from a trip to CT around 8 pm and Jan has had to fetch Scruff from his partners house. I’ve finally sent myself the highlights and observations for Tanzania. As it’s a LONG list I haven’t sent it to the diary recipients as you’re probably bored stiff receiving my daily waffling. There’s a gas burner in the pub and we’re having fillet steak once Scruff returns. Thought I’d send this off now as we’ll have a late night. Take care and thanks for everyone’s support and comments on the picture of how far we have ridden. Thanks for following xx
