Tue 20 Nov 2018, Day 352
Staying with Willem Louw, Zeewenwacht
Distance from Amsterdam 20026
It felt strange waking up in our home town of Knysna but not in our own bed. We’re not used to rushing around and the day to day pressures of a normal life but managed to get a haircut and Peter had his beard trimmed, got cough mixture from the pharmacy and the special dentil floss that I like to use. I made sandwiches at the Wood’s house while Peter inflated the bakkie’s tyres. Have had good rain up to Caledon with a strong south cross wind.
Peter has been calling out distances and I made notes of possible towns on the N2 in preparation for our ride from Knysna to Cape Town next week but we’ll drive back to Knysna on Route 62 and then decide which route take. We dropped off our Impi rooftop tent in Epping which was damaged when we misjudged the height in the Woolworths parking garage in Knysna. The upper part of the shell needs replacing. Next was to find Willem’s house at Zevenwacht Estate so back into heavy traffic but Google maps was spot on. We enjoyed catching up with Willem, his braai for supper and the comfortable bed for the night. Pity Eva and baby Simon weren’t here but will hopefully see them in Cape Town next month, they are visiting Eva’s family in Germany. Tomorrow is another day of running around
